Marie-Antoinette Pistoles

To treat Queen Marie-Antoinette’s headaches, the pharmacist Sulpice Debauve created the first bite-sized chocolate in history by mixing chocolate with medicine to make it taste better. The queen, delighted, named these medallions “Pistoles.”

According to Sulpice Debauve, every recipe has a health-promoting benefit, in keeping with his motto, Utile Dulci!

Each pistol is engraved with a design inspired by the Queen's jewelry collection.
